10″ spun toroid

Aluminum toroid, now used in ST3.

Manufactured by metal spinning technique from 1.5 mm aluminum sheet.

Unlike toroids from corrugated tube – it’s much more sturdy and visually appealing. 🙂

And compared to toroids made of wire – it’s more effective at lowering secondary coil’s resonant frequency, with current specimen reaching up to 8 pF load capacity.
